The difference between A.TR and EUR.1
A.TR is a movement certificate within the Türkiye–EU customs union. EUR.1 is used as proof of preferential origin under free trade agreements. Because the two documents rest on different agreements, which one is needed depends on the product, destination country and agreement.
Points to watch
- The validity period of the document is set by legislation; it is generally four months from the date of issue.
- The goods description and HS code on the invoice must match the information on the certificate.
- A missing or incorrect document may lead to duty being applied in the importing country.
